Short Bio

Qinlong Huang is an Associate Professor in the School of Cyberspace Security, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). He is also affiliated with the National Engineering Research Center of Disaster Backup and Recovery, BUPT. He received his Ph.D. degree in Information Security from the School of Computer Science, BUPT in 2014. He joined the School of Computer Science, BUPT as an Assistant Professor after his graduation, then joined the School of Cyberspace Security, BUPT in Jan. 2016. He has been a visiting scholar at Virginia Tech in the United States from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 2019. He has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) or co-PI of several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and China Computer Federation. Currently, he is leading the Applied Data Security Lab (ADSLab).

His research interests focus on applied cryptography, data privacy and cyber security. He primarily works on the data security in applied systems such as cloud storage, edge computing and AI systems, leveraging classical and post-quantum cryptography as well as new security technologies such as blockchain and trusted hardware. He has published more than 40 papers in refereed journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, and IEEE GLOBECOM. He has served as the Youth Editor for Chinese Journal of Network and Information Security, Journal of Cybersecurity, and the TPC Member for more than 10 IEEE conferences, including IEEE GLOBECOM and IEEE TrustCom.
